Stop organising the same call every week
Weekly tables open by themselves, invitations go out by email or WhatsApp, and nobody's inbox gets buried.
The hardest part of a regular call is the second week. The first one happens on enthusiasm. By the second, someone has to remember to set it up again, and that someone is usually tired of being that someone.
Tables that come back
When you set a table there's now a checkbox: Every week. Once this week's table is over, or called off, the same table opens for next week on its own. Everyone who sat at it gets the link.
Whoever can make it, comes. If only two people can, that's still a call. If nobody can, it quietly doesn't happen and next week's opens anyway.
Inviting people without spamming them
You can now invite people by email from the table's page. Type up to ten addresses, add a line of your own if you like, and send. The email comes from Let's Hang with your name on it, and if someone replies, the reply goes to you, not to us.
Everyone you invite is saved to a list called Your people. Next time, inviting them is one tick. If you add a phone number instead, the button opens WhatsApp with the invitation already written. You still press send yourself.
I've had enough bad experiences with apps that "invite your friends" to be careful here:
- ten addresses at a time, thirty a day
- the same address never gets two invitations to the same table in one day
- every email has a one-click "don't send me invitations", and once someone clicks it we never write to them again
We also cap our own notification emails at eight per person per day. Past that, it's the bell icon only.
Try it with your people
Set a table, send one link. It only happens if enough of them can make it.
