What we get when you sign in with Google

Your name, email address, Google account id and profile picture. Nothing else: we do not ask for access to your calendar, contacts, Drive or mail.

What you add

• Your nickname, country, one-line bio, links, drawn avatar and when you're usually free.
• The tables you set, the seats you take, and what you write in table talk.
• Your timezone, taken from your browser, so times are right.

Who sees what

• Everyone can see your nickname, country, avatar, bio and links, and which public tables you sit at.
• People at the same table see table talk. When a table lights up, they receive a Google Calendar invite from our organizer account in which the other guests are hidden.
• Nobody at a table sees your email address. Only the organizer account and our email provider do, to send you invites and table emails.

Who processes it for us

• Hetzner (Germany) hosts the app and database.
• Cloudflare sits in front of the site.
• Google creates the calendar invites. The video itself runs on our own server and is never recorded.
• Mailgun (EU region) sends email.
• OpenAI or Anthropic reviews table-talk messages for abuse and helps write table suggestions. Messages sent to them are not used to train their models under their API terms.

Google user data

Let's Hang's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use your Google profile only to sign you in and address you, and we never sell it or use it for advertising.

Emails

Only about tables you sit at or host: seat confirmations, lights on, reminders, cancellations. No newsletter, no marketing.

Deleting your Let's Hang account

We keep your account while you use it. You can delete it yourself at any time, on the web or in the Let's Hang app for iPhone and Android:

1. On the web: sign in, open Settings, scroll to Delete my account, type your nickname and press Delete for good.
2. In the app: open the You tab, tap Delete my account, then Delete for good.
3. Or write to [email protected] from your account's email and we'll delete it for you within 30 days.

Deleted right away: your name, nickname, email address, Google sign-in link, profile picture and drawn face, bio and links, availability, your people (contacts) and anyone's saved link to you, notifications, phones registered for push, API and calendar tokens, and your email and push settings. Hangouts you host that haven't happened yet are called off and everyone is told. Your seats in upcoming hangouts are freed for the next person in line.

Kept, without your name: hangouts that already happened keep an empty chair with no name, so other people's history still adds up, and messages you wrote in a hangout's chat stay there under a nameless placeholder. Nothing left can be linked back to you. If you'd like those messages removed too, write to us and we'll do it within 30 days.

You can also ask for a copy of your data. Under the GDPR you may complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner.

Children

Let's Hang is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you are under the age where your country asks for a parent's consent (up to 16 in some EU countries), you need it to use Let's Hang. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it. See our child safety standards.

Cookies

One session cookie to keep you signed in, one security token, and one that remembers your timezone. No tracking or advertising cookies.

Counting visits

We count page views and clicks on links with OpenPanel, running on our own server. It sets no cookies and never follows you to other sites. It only tells us which pages people open, where they came from and roughly where in the world they are. We don't send it your name or email.
