If you have ever played UNO or Crazy Eights, you already know how: put down a card that matches the colour or the number on the pile, or a wild one and pick the colour. Skip the next player, reverse the direction, make them draw two — or four.
Can't go? Draw a card; if it fits you can play it straight away. The first one with an empty hand wins, and the whole table sees when somebody is down to their last card.
